I met Jamey when I was living on St John. We snorkeled and fished together and sometimes we just did nothing together. He was a great guy with a wonderful moral center. The last time I spoke to him was back in either late 2002 or early 2003. I had just found out about him having brain cancer and wanted to call him for advice since at the time, i was being treated for brain cancer myself. He was a pillar of support, and made me feel a lot more at ease about the whole thing, even though I was still scared to death. I still remember exactly where I was, what I was doing, even what I was wearing, when I got that awful phone call. I do not know when this will be received or how it will be received, and I am sorry it has taken me so long to be able to write. He will always be immortal to me...one of the finest people I ever had the honor of calling my friend. I can't wait to see him again. I am not quite certain where to begin. He and I used to have small bible studies together at a friends house several years ago. Those are some of my most cherished memories and probably the time in my life when my faith grew the most. Jamey's witness and testimony was no small part of that. He was a friend and a true brother in Christ. I will miss him, but I know I will see him again. I am so sorry to hear about Jamey.
