Jamey Gross
October 13th, 2006
“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected, but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus… For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly await for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.” Phil. 3:12-4:1
Jamey has surely received his prize today… He went home to be with the Lord this morning, November 9, 2006. Jamey was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and teacher, and he will be sorely missed. We are comforted with the memories that we hold in each of our hearts… Those of Jamey entertaining us, making us laugh hysterically at his jokes, his crazy dance moves, his funny voices, and his impersonations… The times when we exchanged a look with him and knew exactly what he was thinking… The times that we admired and looked up to him for his strength and bravery… His kindness and humility. We are so proud of Jamey for the life that he lived and the courageous battle that he fought.
We love you so much Jamey… You will live on forever in our hearts.

The outpouring of love and generosity towards our family was overwhelming. We are so grateful to have friends & family like you.
It is a blessing to see the love of Christ displayed in His body of believers… what a wonderful witness to those in attendance who have not experienced His love…

Just letting you know I am in prayer for Jamey tonight, October 17, at 10:40. I have also emailed my relatively large prayer chain about this weekend’s benefit, as well as a request for prayer. May you feel the arms of our Risen Lord wrapped tightly around you and see the shining star of His love in the blackness of this season. He will gather the lambs with His arm. (Isaiah 40:11)
i just want to say that the benefit was fun and i was happy (but sad) to see mr. gross. im praying for him everynight for him to get through this successfully. He was the best 7th grade teacher we could ever of had.
p.s is that picture of us in our i love mr. gross shirts coming up anytime soon. and we also would like the address to send him letters/cards while he is in the hospital
